The increasing emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases worldwide is leading to climate change globally . This is adversely impacting both natural and human systems alike . There is urgent need for actions that are directed towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Companies world over can contribute to this SDG is by decarbonizing their operations and supply chains by way of improving energy efficiency, reducing the carbon footprint of their products, services and processes, and setting emissions reductions targets in line with climate science, increasing investment in the development of innovative low-carbon products . Can you suggest any other ways of achieving SDG-13 ?

Adapting to climate change is also crucial since, no matter how successful mitigation efforts are, the changes already occurring are predicted to increase in the years and decades to come, requiring serious planning to minimize risks, vulnerabilities, and impacts. Adaptation strategies that communities are already implementing include:

Building sea walls and moving away from vulnerable coasts in order to avoid sea level rise and storm surges
Diversifying crops and using drip irrigation for agriculture
Building new public works such as sewers, bridges and aqueducts to handle changes in rainfall and flooding
Training public health professionals for increased health impacts and emerging diseases
Developing wildlife conservation plans and new migration corridors to protect endangered species
Designing buildings to conserve and even generate energy, and
Demonstrating strategies and lifestyles for increased sustainability and resilience

Climate change is now affecting every country on every continent. There is no country in the world that is not experiencing first-hand the drastic effects of climate change. Greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, and are now more than 50 percent higher than their 1990 level. Further, global warming is causing long-lasting changes to our climate system, which threatens irreversible consequences if we do not take action now. Thus, it is a challenge that demands well- coordinated solutions at the global level along with global cooperation to assist the developing nations to move towards low carbon economies.
Strengthening flexibility and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural disasters in all countries, integrating climate change measures into national policies, strategies and planning and improving education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning.Beside of these climate- resilient supply chains are needed in terms of reducing emissions as well as implementing high levels of adaptation to possible future climate risk. similarly there should be the development of radically innovative technology and process ( like Biomimicry) which can be one of the crucial solution to mitigate climate field and also there should be a mutually beneficial partnerships between the private, public and voluntary sectors ( like private-Public partnership). I hope the above maintioned points can play crucial role for SDG:13.
