As per the World Health Organization “Health inequities are avoidable inequalities in health between groups of people within countries and between countries”. The interplay of social, economic, environmental and cultural determinants produce health inequity. Literature supports that by addressing the determinants of health disparities by relevant programs and policies can reduce the prevalent health disparities and improve the health of diverse population groups. This study would help in developing tailored intervention targeted to reduce the social, economic and health inequities. The research would help in identifying the key areas which need to be addressed through intervention to improve the health status of the general population.
Unintended Consequences of COVID-19.
Lockdown resulted in many unintended consequences with disruptions to food related practices, physical activity, employment, and overall mental health consequently. Considering the nature of present quarantine measures and its implications beyond the pandemic, it is important to assess the unintended consequences of the pandemic and their implications on over all well-being. The present study aims to fill the gap regarding the same along with proposing a conceptual and recommendation framework for the mental health, lifestyle, employment, and nutrition related variables during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A cross sectional study to examine factors influencing COVID-19 vaccine acceptance, hesitancy and refusal in urban and rural settings in Tamil Nadu, India.
The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic left the Indian healthcare system overwhelmed. The severity of a third wave will depend on the success of the vaccination drive; however, vaccine hesitancy can be an obstacle for public health authorities. Our study aims to estimate the population’s acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine in an Indian district. A pilot community-based cross-sectional study was conducted from March-May 2021. The data was collected from eight primary health centres in Tamil Nadu. The eligible study participants were interviewed using a self- constructed questionnaire.
Tools to evaluate the m health apps –Scoping review
Evaluating mobile health applications requires specific criteria. Research suggests evaluation grids and online web sites are available to provide a quick sense of ease to use a mobile application without worrying about the quality, efficacy, and safety of the mobile application. The project aims to do a scoping review of the tools to evaluate the m health apps.
Behaviour change informatics intervention to enhance and support lifestyle intervention among individuals with chronic NCDS in developing countries.
Digital interventions have tremendous potential to enhance and support lifestyle among individuals with chronic NCDS in developing countries. They have gained acknowledgment in interventions for the management of a healthy lifestyle. This study aims to assess the behaviour change digital health interventions implemented on maintaining a healthy lifestyle (eg, regular physical activity, healthy habits, and proper dietary patterns) among individuals with chronic NCDS in developing countries.
Landscape analysis of tool evaluating quality of health informatics over internet
The COVID-19 pandemic has recently highlighted the critical role of health misinformation on social media and internet, as well as the need for quality and factual accuracy in health messages in order to manage the existing public health crisis and the resulting infodemic. Therefore, we aim to conduct a scoping review of the quality and readability of online health information of different health conditions.

The purpose of this scoping review is to review health information system usability study methods and to provide practical guidance on health information system usability evaluation.
Content and features analysis of smartphone apps on Google Play Store to assist in self-management of Anaemia
The objective of the study was to assess the features and content of Anemia apps available on the Google play store to help manage Anemia. The search was conducted for apps related to different types of Anemia apps on the Google play store and Apple App Store in June 2021. A total of 51 apps were included in the analysis after screening based on inclusion and exclusion criteria.
Review of Behaviour Change Techniques (BCTs) of health and lifestyle-related apps on Apple App Store.
The review aimed at assessing the general characteristics and mapping of the Behaviour Change Techniques (BCTs) in health and lifestyle-based apps. The search was conducted in February 2021 in India using the Apple App Store database to identify health and lifestyle apps. Keywords used for the search were Nutrition, Obesity, Cholesterol, Diabetes, Hypertension, Exercise, and Yoga. A total of 47 apps were included for further analysis.
Evaluating features, behavior change techniques, and nutrition-specific information in pregnancy m-Health apps
The study aimed to assess various pregnancy diet apps available in the google play store, along with the assessment of behavior change techniques (BCTs) and pregnancy-specific nutrition information. The search was conducted in February 2021 using the Google Play Store on m-Health apps related to pregnancy diet. Using the search term ‘Pregnancy diet apps’, 250 apps were retrieved. On screening based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, 50 relevant apps were identified for analysis.
Evaluation of Malnutrition Applications in the Google Play Store
The objective of the study was to comprehensively assess and evaluate the characteristics and features of malnutrition applications available in the Google Play Store. To evaluate the availability of health applications for Malnutrition, a search was conducted in February 2021 on the Google Play Store using Google Chrome as the browser. The search term entered in Google play store was “Malnutrition”.
Evaluating the Childhood Obesity Apps in the Google Play Store
The objective of the study was to assess the features of childhood obesity apps available in the Google play store. We examined the inclusion of scientific evidence- based strategies in the apps for the management of childhood obesity. To achieve this, a search was conducted for childhood obesity apps in the Google play store in February 2021. A total of 250 apps were retrieved. After applying inclusion, exclusion criteria, and removing the duplicate apps, the final 66 apps were identified and analyzed for the present study.

The project aims to assess the current status of all the public health programs across India. The project focuses on the undergraduates, graduates, PhD and diploma public health programs administered in India.
Landscape Analysis of Public Health Jobs in India to Develop an Evidence-based Public Health Curriculum

Burden of COVID-19 related Mis-Information
The current study aims to conduct a scoping review and map existing literature on the spread of misinformation and infodemic during the past one year of the abrupt COVID-19 outbreak to address public health concerns of infodemic and misinformation (including disinformation and mal-information). The study also aims to address the four key knowledge gaps in the context of pandemics in the field of health- related misinformation on social media namely, a) identify the dominant health misinformation trends and specifically assess their prevalence on different social media platforms, b) scrutinize interactive mechanisms and factors that make it possible to progressively spread health misinformation through social media, c) impact of misinformation on development and reproduction of unhealthy or dangerous health behaviors, d) identify the most effective and appropriate strategies to combat and reduce the negative impact of health misinformation
Factors influencing school reopening during COVID-19
The objective of the study is to evaluate the impact of the factors that influence school reopening during COVID-19. We plan to conduct a systematic review to examine the factors that need to be taken into consideration when deciding upon school reopening across diverse settings.
