Dr Md Imran khan is a Public Health Professional with more than 10 years of experience of working in the development sector. An MBA in Public Health Management from IHMR Jaipur, as well as a Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication from Lucknow University, he has strategic understanding of implementing public health interventions as well as of facilitating positive behavior change.
His experience in the field has largely been of a field level implementer and development communications expert. He was a core part of the PSI team that implemented the WHO Safe Childbirth Checklist, as part of the Randomized Control Trial undertaken by the Harvard School of Public health assessing the efficacy and impact of the checklist on maternal and neonatal health in UP, India. His work experience in the field of Strategic & development communications has also been rich and innovative. He was a core member of the communications team that addressed the quality of client-provider interface at public health facilities by developing and facilitating usage of a communication branding package for public health facilities in Lucknow, UP. The package was subsequently adopted by the Government of UP and India and was scaled up across public health facilities in many states. His skill sets in undertaking communications research, developing communication strategies and IEC/BCC content development and campaign execution are of immense value.
In past, he has worked with various organisations like Engender Health India, PSI, and UNICEF Office of Uttar Pradesh on various RMNCH+A themes as well as in the field of Non communicable diseases. He also has been at the forefront of implementing various NTEP services for private sector TB Patients as well as in engaging private providers for improving on quality TB Care and its management.
PHD in Population Health Informatics will enhance his knowledge and field understanding of social behavior change communication dynamics in the community. It will also help him explore reasons that drives decision making of individuals thereby lead to establishing sustainable positive behavior change in the populace.
