The Covid-19 pandemic has restrained and challenged the entire world in multiple ways. In these times of adversity, innovation is needed. With that in mind, we at FHTS like to invite you to be a part of the first SMAART IMPACT Hackathon.

Dr. Ashish Joshi Senior Associate Dean Academic and Student Affairs of the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy conceptualized this hackathon to support ideation to implementation of solutions that address population health challenges of the 21st century.

A platform for participants to highlight the most prominent and recent trends and data on COVID-19 infection, management, and vaccination-related scientific information.

Domains we will focus on include –

  • COVID-19 management
  • Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on mental health and well-being
  • Vaccination against COVID-19
  • What’s next w.r.t COVID-19: Impact, Lessons, and Future

This will serve as an excellent opportunity to get your ideas recognized, highlight, and find solutions to the impact of COVID-19, and for professionals and students from across the healthcare sector and beyond to gather to gain and exchange knowledge.

Get your thinking caps on and be part of this enriching experience!

A platform for participants to highlight the most prominent and recent trends and data on COVID-19 infection, management, and vaccination-related scientific information. This initiative will allow the participants to achieve the following objectives:

  • Learn to summarize information and present it in a visually impactful manner.
  • Enhance presentation skills and concisely and accurately explaining their work.
  • Demonstrate poise and mental agility before faculty and peers.
  • Discuss their research and subject knowledge while maximizing networking opportunities.

Everyone is welcome to participate, be it students or professionals from various backgrounds. All you need is a passion for public health!

  • The interested candidates can register for the competition by 30/06/2021.
  • The candidate can either register as a participant/ as an attendee for the event.
  • Candidates must pick one of these four domains they are interested in presenting while filling out the registration form
    • COVID-19 management
    • Impact of COVID-19 pandemic on mental health and well-being
    • Vaccination against COVID-19
    • What’s next w.r.t COVID-19: Impact, Lessons, and Future
  • Submit a 250-word abstract concisely describing the chosen topic. Additionally, the participant is required to record a short video on their chosen topic. Please ensure the video is no longer than 2 minutes. Please email it to: smaartimpact@fhts.ac.in
  • The participants are required to submit the latest copy of their CV in the same email thread to: smaartimpact@fhts.ac.in
  • The acceptance for the final presentations notified to the respective participants by 01/07/2021. Seven best participants will get an opportunity showcase their idea to an esteemed panel of judges and other attendees.
  • Please note that submission of abstracts does not automatically register you for the competition. Please register yourself if you have not.
Register for Hackathon
  • After submission and acceptance of the abstract, the participant gets a chance to introduce their idea for the poster competition in the form of a short 2-minute video describing their content. This shared on FHTS social media pages with written consent from the participant.
  • The final presentation held on 10/07/2021 via Zoom.
  • The judging panel would consist of five professionals from outside the organization.
  • The judging sessions will consist of a fifteen-minute presentation given by the participant, followed by a question-and-answer session.
  1. Problem statement (5 points) – highlight topic and what problem it addresses.
    • Background
    • Significance and Relevance
    • Objective
  2. Implementation- describe how to address this problem and support it with scientific evidence (10 points)
  3. Community Impact (10 points)
  4. Outcomes Assessed (10 Points)
  5. Presentation (10 points)

Please ensure that your final presentation describes your chosen topic under headings as mentioned in the above list and supported by sound scientific evidence in the form of references.

  • The best three awardees of the poster presentation recognized at the monthly FHTS newsletter, presented with an award letter, and provided with an appreciation voucher of INR 1000, 500 and 250.
  • Participation certificate provided to all.

The acceptance for the final presentations notified to the respective participants by 01/07/2021. Seven best participants will get an opportunity to show case their idea to an esteemed panel of judges and other attendees.
