PhD Fellow

Abhijeet is seasoned Public health and Development professional with more than 16 years of work experience in India, South Africa and UK. He has managed large scale Healthcare, CSR, WASH, RMNCHA, Nutrition, HIVAIDS program and skilled in Project Management, Quality assurance, Evidence based Research, Monitoring & Evaluation of Projects and Program. He possesses excellent program management skills and he is skilled in generating partnership with Private company, CSR foundation and Government partnership for designing Projects, Co funding Project proposals. He has studied Post Graduate in Public health and management from University of Brighton UK and PGDM-RM (MBA) from XISS India. He has led several innovative projects and program in more than 10 states of India. He has several publications in reputed Global journals and attended several Global conferences to present papers in Public health and Nutrition. Abhijeet is LDM Packard leadership fellow, RSPH UK fellow, Common Purpose UK fellow and recipient of University of Sussex international chancellor scholarship, BSMS fellow, University of Brighton UK Scholarship, UBSU grant UK. He has attended several training courses from University of Cambridge UK, University of Oxford UK, IIM Bangalore, Leeds University UK and Kasetsart University, Bangkok.

Why are you interested in this Program?

I want to pursue a Ph.D. in Population Health Informatics as my career aspiration is to become champion in population Health informatics, especially on nutrition informatics. I have always wanted to pursue PhD which involves experiential learning and not based on theories, classroom or scholarly in nature. I want to do Research, which is evidence based and learnings which can be applied. The research to focus on findings solutions to problem through action-based or applied Research. I would like to put Research to application and action to improve Project and Program delivery and strengthen the program design, for better delivery of interventions. The wider application and use of health informatics to improve health outcome. My research interests include SDG Informatics, Nutrition Informatics, Use of mobile technology on nutrition informatics applications & outcome. My motivation for pursuing research related to population health informatics & Nutrition informatics stems from more than 16+ years’ experience in working Health care management in India, South Africa and UK.

How does PhD help you in future career plans?

My motivation for pursuing PhD in population health informatics & Nutrition informatics stems from more than 16+ years’ experience in working Health care management in India, South Africa an UK. It will be very encouraging to see my research applied to real-world problems and studying PhD in Population Health Informatics from DIT University under the guidance of Dr Ashish Joshi will be immense learning experience as program is jointly run by FHTS and DIT University. This experiential learning experience would shape my career path to become champion in nutrition informatics in India and therefore Ph.D. program in Population Health Informatics is a great match for my interests and passion in nutrition informatics and doing some impactful work in achieving SDG 2 nutritional Goals in India.
