I, Dr Antara Sharma, am a registered dentist. I have completed my Bachelors in Dental Surgery from Jaipur Dental College,2019 after completing my clinical internship. During my Bachelor of Dental Surgery, I learnt and became experienced in clinical training as well as developed my communication skills by dealing with people from different walks of life. Following my passion for public health and research, I am currently pursuing Masters in Public Health in Prasanna School of Public Health, Manipal University with specialization in Health Policy. My areas of interest are Gender and health equality, Communicable diseases and non- communicable diseases, Health system strengthening, Occupational and environmental health etc.

During the covid-19 pandemic, initially when there were no virtual opportunities of internship for students, FHTS provided us with that opportunity. Overall, the internship was a good learning experience for me, I learnt about the public health systems of different countries and also came into terms with the COVID-19 situation in different countries and states. It also improved my communication as well as presentation skills. This internship will definitely help me in my future profession when I work as a public health professional.
