I am Dr. R. Sai Madhuri, from Hyderabad. Currently, I am pursuing a master’s in public health at the Indian institute of public health (IIPH), Hyderabad. I completed my Undergraduate (U.G) in bachelor of homeopathic medicine and surgery (BHMS) from JSPS govt homeopathic medical college, Ramanthapur, Hyderabad in 2020. And also I did my diploma in health insurance from the insurance institute of India (III) during my Undergraduate Days. As MPH being multidisciplinary (i.e. meeting people from different fields and with different views), this factor attracted me so much to pursue my Postgraduation (P.G) in public health. I am so fortunate to join FHTS virtual internship during these tough covid times where it is very difficult to find such an opportunity to learn and explore public health.

HOW DO I SEE MYSELF IN THE NEXT ONE YEAR?
Well, in the next year I probably see myself with much more knowledge gaining compared to my current knowledge in the aspects of public health by the time I complete my post-graduation in MPH. I will get to know completely about what does public health includes and the areas it actually deals with. I get to learn more about statistical software used in public health like SPSS, Stata, etc. I will be good at communication skills and I will be able to assist in any public health program. Hopefully, I will see myself in any govt sector jobs then I can start working in any public health programs preferably woman and child health as I had an interest in it. I may be working in any program especially related to epidemiological aspects like case study designs and assessing the risk and finding solutions to the public health problem as this field is pretty much attractive to me. I will see myself as an epidemiologist preferably.
HOW DO I SEE MYSELF IN THE NEXT THREE YEARS?
So, in the next three years if everything goes well and I am continuing in any health programs I may have a piece of deep knowledge regarding the pros and cons of health programs and how does any programming works. And also I will be pretty experienced and knowledgeable in whatever work I am doing. I will get an opportunity to meet different people from different fields and learn from them. After gaining some experience for 3 years I will do some research/campaigns in creating awareness in the usage of an alternative system of medicines along with modern medicine [allopathic]. As am from AYUSH [homeopathy] background I will work towards improving the use of an alternative system of medicines as they are having fewer/no side effects compared to allopathic medicines. This is what I want to work on after I got my some good amount of experience i.e. for 3 years [as I feel this 3 years of experience is pretty much enough for me to get confident and also maintain some HR in promoting and working towards stabilizing this alternative system of medicines]
