Yachna Goyal

In the next year, I see myself as a passionate and determinant public health professional ready to enter the field of public health ahead of completing my post-graduation. I desire to build my competencies and widen my horizon in the field of public health exploring different aspects of the field from public health research, adolescent health, and communicable and non-communicable diseases to health informatics, project management, and data analysis. To accomplish my goal of pursuing a master’s in public health it is essential that I channelize my energy in the right direction by working towards the benefit of the people and bring about a positive change in society. I hope to give my best to every opportunity that comes my way, learn and grow as I climb up the ladder of my career. I aspire to work in the government sector closely dealing with critical health issues and exploring targeted interventions and innovations working on the path to strengthen the roots of the healthcare system in India. In the next three years, I see myself evolved as a person working more dedicatedly in my field of public health. If I will get a chance, I would love to pursue further study in the field, doing a Ph.D. or specific courses aligned to the public health tracks that will help amplify my skill set and broaden my knowledge about the huge domain of public health. I also wish to diversify my experience by learning about the health systems and approaches followed in different countries around the globe, form meaningful connections with experts in the field and gain from their experience, and work in international organizations acquiring the valuable expertise that will help boost my work in the area of public health. I wish to seek every failure as an opportunity to work harder to meet my goal. In my journey of public health, I want to work on the lines of empathy, ethics, compassion, and hard work and build a society that is equitable for all.

My 3 months journey at FHTS was a great learning experience. I got to work on various projects where I learned multiple things like data extraction and compilation, audio podcasts, systematic search and data verification. It enhanced my knowledge about the growing field of digital health and acquainted me to digital health policies of different countries. Additionally, it helped me gain skills like time management, team work and boosted my confidence.
I am grateful to FHTS for providing this opportunity and preparing me for my future goals.
