I am Dr. Varnika Kaushik. I am a dental graduate holding a Post Graduate Diploma in Management in Applied Epidemiology from National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi. I’m keen to be a part of Community health initiatives and have a special interest in the field of research. I intent to gain relevant hands on experience and learn in detail the process of conducting a research, both at community and at academic level. I feel FHTS can provide great value and knowledge in the field of public health.

1. I’ve learned the theoretical aspects of conducting a research in my post graduate program and now Iwant to extend my knowledge and want to learn the practical process of conducting a research.
2. Improving my skills that would help me build a stronger career in the field of research is my priority, which includes skills like scientific writing, literature review, health communication, data collection, data analysis etc.
3. To develop teamwork abilities and community engagement abilities for successful participation in all the arenas of public health.
4. To headstart my career in public health with the experience gained from this internship and explore global opportunities in the field of public health in the upcoming years.
5. My long term goal is to conduct researches related of oral cancers, especially habit related (like smoking, tobacco chewing, etc.), so as to develop strategies to decrease their prevalence.
