Abstract

FHTS celebrated National Drug and Alcohol Facts week on 24th January 2020 at Shahadara Fire Station, New Delhi to spread awareness among masses regarding health risks of consuming alcohol and various other drugs.

National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week

As part of an ongoing Swasthya Pahal initiative camp, team members of Foundation of Healthcare Technologies Society celebrated Public Health Day on the theme “National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week”. A total of 16 beneficiaries were counselled about health risks of consuming drugs and alcohol using a poster designed by interns.

The poster had information on various types of common drugs, their adverse health outcomes and measures for quitting drugs and alcohol. Beneficiaries found the information very useful. Some of them even clicked pictures of the poster for future reference.

One of the beneficiaries of Swasthya Pahal initiative, wanted to know more about ways of quitting smoking. After poster presentation he was guided towards one of the team members to avail counselling on ways of quitting smoking. Towards the end of the session he seemed quite motivated to take steps towards quitting it.
