I am Dr. Sumedha Mitra, an Upcoming Public Health postgraduate with a specialization in Epidemiology from Prasanna School of Public Health, Manipal, and an under-graduation in Dentistry from Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore. I am driven, dedicated, inquisitive, and highly adaptable; committed to helping implement preventive healthcare interventions via relevant research and data analysis.

I found myself drawn to the INSPIRE fellowship program at FHTS, because of its mission to harness technology to make healthcare more readily accessible for the holistic well-being of the population.

I am intent on growing in alignment with the organization’s objectives by rapidly picking relevant skills, fostering collaboration, and leveraging my exposure to the healthcare sector. Lending my voice to the voiceless by synthesizing evidence and prioritizing sustainability during my internship here is what excites me

Goals:

I see my future self as a highly competent and effective public health researcher, well equipped with the research and data analysis skills required to translate evidence into actionable insights. My goal is to work at the World Health Organizations on issues pertaining to global health, health equity and emerging infectious diseases. I see myself as an advocate for sustainable and ethical practices and the concept of One Health motivates me to think not just in terms of humans, but in terms of animals and plants and the complete planet itself.
