v-INSPIRE is a Virtual Interactive Novel Support Program for Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship that aims to address the population health challenges of the 21st century by enhancing the academic and non-academic skills of interns using an Innovative and participatory experiential learning experience. The synergistic impact of integrating innovation and experiential learning can improve the critical thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial mindsets in the context of healthcare, research, and innovation.

v-INSPIRE Public Health is a Virtual Interactive Novel Support Program for Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship that aims to address the population health challenges of the 21st century by enhancing the academic and non-academic skills of interns using an Innovative and participatory experiential learning experience. The synergistic impact of integrating innovation and experiential learning can improve the critical thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial mindsets in the context of healthcare, research, and innovation.

v-INSPIRE-Internship and Dissertation (v-INSPIRE-I-D) program comprises program comprises two distinct but complementary components: Internship and Dissertation which are detailed below:

  • Internship provides hands-on experience, allowing interns to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications to combat contemporary challenges. Interns will cover various topics, including Health System Mapping, From Data to Decisions: Systems Mapping for Evidence-Based Policy, and Public Health Engagement: Translating Knowledge into Action. These modules will help interns to understand the structure, functions, and interconnections within healthcare systems to identify gaps and areas for improvement. Moreover, interns will be empowered to leverage data-driven insights to inform policy decisions and optimize healthcare interventions.
  • Dissertation, lays the emphasis on structured research, which enables interns to conduct in-depth analysis, draw evidence-based data, and contribute to the knowledge base in their respective domains under our mentorship and guidance. Interns will be actively engaged in their dissertation work throughout the entire duration of the program, ensuring continuous research progress alongside their internship experience.

The core objective is to provide mentorship and guidance to conduct high-quality dissertation work.

Based on the principles of Bloom’s Taxonomy, learning outcomes of the program include:

  1. Identify and define the structure and different components of the Public Health System.
  2. Get acquainted with the critical role played by the public health system in addressing public health challenges.
  3. Utilize data collection techniques to understand and assess the current status of public health intervention.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to participate in community-based initiatives to promote health.
  5. To develop a commitment to ethical decision-making, working within a team, and understanding community-centered approaches on complex public health challenges.
  6. Implement a community-based health intervention demonstrating leadership, collaboration, and strategic problem-solving to improve public health outcomes.
  7. Analyze the public health strategies and adopt an evidence-based approach to assess the public health intervention and propose policy recommendations.
  8. Effectively communicate public health-related information to foster community awareness and engagement.

The program is available in virtual, in-person, and hybrid mode. The program is offered for a minimum 3 months and maximum for 6 months, allowing interns to select the duration based on commitment permitted by their parent/primary institute while aligning with their learning objectives and career goals.

This is a flexible, self-paced program (including both Asynchronous and synchronous learning), with interactive teaching through a series of hands-on activities, real-world engagement. short lectures, case studies, reading material, and discussions. In addition, the program will utilize problem-based learning approaches, rubrics, self-reflection approaches, and summative assessments to evaluate skills, knowledge, and competencies of interns. Additionally, the program offers a platform for interns to voice their opinions on the Discussion Forum (COPHI).
