v-INSPIRE is a Virtual Interactive Novel Support Program for Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship that aims to address the population health challenges of the 21st century by enhancing the academic and non-academic skills of interns using an Innovative and participatory experiential learning experience. The synergistic impact of integrating innovation and experiential learning can enhance the critical thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial mindsets in the context of healthcare, research, and innovation.
v-INSPIRE Public Health is a Virtual Interactive Novel Support Program for Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship that aims to address the population health challenges of the 21st century by enhancing the academic and non-academic skills of interns using an Innovative and participatory experiential learning experience. The synergistic impact of integrating innovation and experiential learning can enhance the critical thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial mindsets in the context of healthcare, research, and innovation.
v-INSPIRE Internship program provides hands-on experience, allowing interns to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications to combat contemporary challenges. The interns are provided with continuous guidance throughout their internship, ensuring that structured learning and professional growth are achieved and academic rigor is maintained.
Interns will cover various topics, including Health System Mapping, From Data to Decisions: Systems Mapping for Evidence-Based Policy, and Public Health Engagement: Translating Knowledge into Action. These modules will help interns to understand the structure, functions, and interconnections within healthcare systems to identify gaps and areas for improvement. Moreover, from data extraction to storytelling, interns will be empowered to leverage data-driven insights to inform policy decisions and optimize healthcare interventions. By covering these modules, interns can enhance their holistic understanding of healthcare, data analytics, and systems thinking, whose integration can drive meaningful change in public health and healthcare systems. In addition, interns will be equipped to build empathy and resilience to foster trust, compassionate care, and stay adaptable while improving community health outcomes.
The core objective is to provide an opportunity for professionals to gain experience, engage with the community, develop technical, leadership, and interpersonal skills, and build career readiness in their respective fields while making a positive and meaningful societal impact.
Based on the principles of Bloom’s Taxonomy, learning outcomes of the program include:
- Identify and define the structure and different components of the Public Health System.
- Get acquainted with the critical role played by the public health system in addressing public health challenges.
- Utilize data collection techniques to understand and assess the current status of public health intervention.
- Demonstrate the ability to participate in community-based initiatives to promote health.
- To develop a commitment to ethical decision-making, working within a team, and understanding community-centered approaches on complex public health challenges.
- Implement a community-based health intervention demonstrating leadership, collaboration, and strategic problem-solving to improve public health outcomes.
- Analyze the public health strategies and adopt an evidence-based approach to assess the public health intervention and propose policy recommendations.
- Effectively communicate public health-related information to foster community awareness and engagement.
The program is available in virtual, in-person and hybrid mode, which provides complete flexibility in duration, allowing interns to pursue the program from one month up to six months, depending upon their learning goals and interests. Each topic is delivered in the form of short lectures, case studies, hands-on exercises, reading material, and discussions.

This is a flexible, self-paced program (including both Asynchronous and synchronous learning), with interactive teaching through a series of hands-on activities, real-world engagement. short lectures, case studies, reading material, and discussions. In addition, the program will utilize problem-based learning approaches, rubrics, self-reflection approaches, and summative assessments to evaluate skills, knowledge, and competencies of interns. Additionally, the program offers a platform for interns to voice their opinions on the Discussion Forum (COPHI).
